Jacquelene Brotherton

Ambassador

Jacquelene Brotherton, the current Chair of Transport Women Australia Limited, was a member of the AGEC Board from November 2020 to May 2022. Jacquelene has just celebrated her fifty years in the trucking industry, a career that has taken her from outback Australia to Washington DC, starting as a teenager in her parents’ business.  Jacquelene has long advocated for women in non-traditional careers in transport and logistics, through various mediums including speaking, writing, implementing training forums, bringing together successful career women to provide mentors, and winning sponsorships for learning initiative breakfasts and scholarships for higher learning opportunities, through industry associations, and supporters.

Jacquelene initiated the Women Driving Transport Careers programme, a joint venture with Wodonga TAFE and Volvo Group Australia, for a Female Only Driver Licensing Course.  She has promoted diversity and inclusion within the road transport industry through her Big Rigs column, through her membership with community associations, through podcasts and speaking appearances.

In 2018 Jacquelene was awarded the Excellence in Road Transport Award at the Women in Industry Awards and the Inaugural Female Leadership in Transport Award at the Australian Freight Industry Awards. In 2019 she received the Wyndham Business Person of the Year Award. Jacquelene was Chair of Transport Women Australia Limited from 2009 to 2011, and returned to the role of Chair in November 2017.
