AGEC’s FY25-26 Pre Budget submission cautions that now is not the time to take the focus off gender equality initiatives which will deliver a stronger Australian economy and community. The comprehensive submission calls for real and lasting transformation by strengthening the “Working for Women”, expanding initiatives to end gender based violence, and implementing a comprehensive education and cultural change program. AGEC urges the Federal Government to adopt a holistic, action driven National Gender Equality Strategy that not only addresses gender inequality’s symptoms but its root causes.
