Rebecca Dickson

Ambassador and Former Board Member

Rebecca is committed to champion AGEC’s national ‘Hands Up for Gender Equality’ research and work to create education- and school-based programs that ensure our future workplaces are free from gender bias and Australia’s girls are not limited in their future careers.

According to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee, the construction industry produces 8% of Australia’s GDP and, by 2023, is predicted to employ almost 1.4 million Australians.  These are significant figures and the construction industry is booming.  But it remains the most male dominated sector, overt and unconscious bias pervade its culture, and women’s participation in the sector is falling.

NAWIC’s vision is an equitable construction industry in which women fully participate.   NAWIC is a staunch supporter of AGEC’s Manifesto for Gender Equality, particularly its mandates for respect, workforce representation and workplace flexibility.
