OWN believes in a society rich in social capital, where mutual respect and trust are paramount, where diversity and debate are valued and where people and their networks have a legitimate voice. OWN’s purpose is to advocate and lobby for legislative and other reforms on issues affecting the quality of life of older women, as well as future older women. OWN works to improve the wellness, quality of life and opportunities for older women in the fields of:

  • Social and affordable housing
  • Income Security
  • Participation in decision making affecting older women
  • Violence against older women
  • Ageism
  • Accessible health care
