SUMMARY:WiBF | Ask the Experts - Practise social distancing but not vocal distancing: How to speak with influence when working remotely
DESCRIPTION:Now it is critical for all employees to be able to speak with impact\, influence and confidence. Leaders now need to be heard through a general high level of anxiety or in fast paced and unpredictable scenarios. The business that comes with face to face speaking will get lost in the pandemonium unless people have the skills to stay in control and cut through – virtually or not. \nIn this 45 minute session\, Lucy Cornell\, Founder and CEO of The Cornell Voice Advisory\, a leading Global Specialist on the speaking Voice for Business leaders will equip you with techniques:\n– to stay in voice while working remotely\,\n– to speak boldly when it matters\,\n– to be clear and direct\,\n– to listen deeply so you can discern where agenda meets truth\n– to access the remote working super power: to hear what is in a voice – not just the words\, but the intention in the voice.

SUMMARY:2020 Annual Forum of the Australian Gender Equality Council
DESCRIPTION:As we head into the new year this is an important message to SAVE THE DATE for the 2020 Annual Forum of the Australian Gender Equality Council\, which is  being held in Sydney on Wednesday 1st & Thursday 2nd April 2020. \nWith the successful release of AGEC’s Manifesto for Gender Equality in 2019\, we see 2020 as an important year to grow AGEC’s impact and influence by progressing our core objectives. Our successes to date have demonstrated that collaboration with our Member Organisations and key stakeholders is critical to gaining momentum on key gender equality priorities. With your help we see this as the focus of the 2020 Annual Members’ Forum. \nThe Agenda for AGEC’s  2020 Annual Forum will focus on the domains of the Manifesto we collectively see as priorities for action in 2020 and to identify initiatives where we can collaborate or leverage to make real progress in the year ahead. \nThe outcomes of the 2019 Forum demonstrated the value of the 2-day format and your feedback told us that spending time together\, and learning more about each of our Member Organisations\, and your initiatives\, was enormously beneficial.  So we are keen to get as many of our Member Organisations and key stakeholders together again for the 2020 Annual Forum.

SUMMARY:International Day of the Girl Child
DESCRIPTION:“On this International Day of the Girl\, let us recommit to supporting every girl to develop her skills\, enter the workforce on equal terms and reach her full potential.” — UN Secretary-General António Guterres\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSince 2012\, 11 October has been marked as the International Day of the Girl. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face\, while promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights. \n2018 theme: With Her: A Skilled GirlForce\nToday’s generation of girls are preparing to enter a world of work that is being transformed by innovation and automation. Educated and skilled workers are in great demand\, but roughly a quarter of young people – most of them female – are currently neither employed or in education or training. \nOf the 1 billion young people – including 600 million adolescent girls – that will enter the workforce in the next decade\, more than 90% of those living in developing countries will work in the informal sector\, where low or no pay\, abuse and exploitation are common. \nOn 11 October\, International Day of the Girl\, we are working alongside all girls to expand existing learning opportunities\, chart new pathways and calling on the global community to rethink how to prepare them for a successful transition into the world of work. \nUnder the theme\, With Her: A Skilled GirlForce\, International Day of the Girl will mark the beginning of a year-long effort to bring together partners and stakeholders to advocate for\, and draw attention and investments to\, the most pressing needs and opportunities for girls to attain skills for employability.
