UQ Business School has released a comprehensive Report on the impact of COVID-19 on women. The study undertaken with the support of AGEC and, one of its founding members, NAWIC, reveals the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on Australian women and provides important lessons for the future. While the shift to more flexible work provided some benefits for women, there have also been significant unintended consequences for women which cannot be ignored.  The Report provides a number of important recommendations, amongst them it underscores the urgent need for a National Gender Equality Strategy to address the fundamental causes of inequality and gender role stereotypes.
